Review by H. McNaspy "Spade5" : Great little TV 5 Star

I have only had it a week and it is my first HD TV and I think it is great. I bought it for the bedroom and watch it from about 12 feet away and the screen size in my opinion is perfect. I can see all the detail but the set is not so large as to be obtrusive.

Picture quality is excellent for over the air channels using a coax cable to an external antenna that is in the attic. Sound is good and I think the Energy Star rating is a plus. There is a option to enhance the frequencies of the human voice so I can better understand what is being said. I think this really works.

I had a gift card for Fry's so I did not buy from Amazon this time but I did research other brands and sizes here. Like I said this is my first HD but I have looked at a ton of them at Best Buy and Costco. I cannot remember seing another set that had a better picture but I haven't really seen too many of the smaller screen sizes. It may just look better because it is small but I cannot imagine what 1080 would give you over the 720 it has. The LED may have something to do with it as well. I have seen no motion blur or ghosting and it is 60hz refresh rate.

Review by Dew "dew02of5" : Awesome LED TV 5 Star

This is the first LG electronic product I've owned. The image is outstanding. The detail is hard to believe. A huge bonus is how thin and light weight this HDTV is. I use the free digital broadcasts and the signals come in great. I'd recommend and buy this LG HDTV again.

Review by Howard Dolinsky "hdoutla" : Great 22" TV 5 Star

TV has very adjustable picture which should leave anyone able to find the characteristics they like. Adjustments are laid out well. LED quality and low power consumption are important pluses for me. Desing is simple and elegant. Be aware that table mount has NO angle adjustment so you must place it at the height you want to view it unless you wall mount it- a small flaw. Table mount is large so you could place something under front or rear feet to partially compensate for this. Several sound choices. Thin TV with thin frame means speakers do not project sound forward but I like the dispersion this creates and sound is adequate if you just turn it up a few notches. Good value for the price.

Review by Christoph W. Strattan : GREAT ENERGY SAVER! 5 Star

When I purchased this TV I had no idea it had an energy saving feature that lets you turn down the brightness of the video screen or even turn it completely off . Now, I use this feature all the time in the evening to "listen" to music off the satellite while I read or fall asleep. It's great, and I'm not paying for all that energy and an "active" screen I really don't need or want.

Review by Raven : Great tv! 5 Star

I got this tv to replace an old dinosaur television in my bedroom. It's very nice. It wasn't too expensive and the remote is easy to use.
I like that the remote has the "subtitle" button right there instead of having to go into a menu and fish for it.
The picture quality is nice and the sound is good. I only wish the speakers were in front of the screen though. Besides that, everything is perfect.

Review by folkdancer : Excellent Kitchen TV 5 Star

After reading the Amazon reviews of this 22-inch LG, particularly noting it's excellent antenna reception, I ordered it. Setup was quick and easy and I love everything about it, including its high-quality remote. At first I was somewhat disappointed by the picture -- it seemed dark. But then I discovered the Picture Wizard function, and simply selecting Preferred solved the issue, yielding a clear, bright image. The sound is not as robust as the 13-inch kitchen CRT it replaced, but OK overall. (It has two 7W speakers; most 22-inch sets have either 3W or 5W speakers.) Bottom Line: I am impressed with the overall quality of this LG.

Review by kdogwyoming : Great Small TV 5 Star

I purchased this TV for a bedroom and it works amazingly! It has great picture and is very thin. I am not a huge fan of the remote, the buttons are hard to push to get them to work. But everything with the TV it's self is Good.

Review by T. Hughes : LG 22 inch LED LCD HDTV 5 Star

I recently purchased the LG 22LE5300 HDTV and couldn't be more pleased. I was looking for a 19 - 22 inch for our kitchen and researched many TV's by reading as many reviews as I could. The consistant theme in all reviews on 19 - 22 inch HDTV's was the poor quality sound in all of them. Most of them said the sound in these TV's sounded hollow and tinny. Because of this I also reviewed many external PC speakers assuming I would purchase a pair in case the sound of the TV I purchased was as bad as the reviews stated. So after much research selected the LG 22LE5300, mainly because of the positive reviews.

When the LG arrived, I installed it immediately to my Verizon FIOS HD receiver. Boy was I surprised, the sound was more than adequate. Absolutely no need to purchase external speakers. Understand that the TV is in our kitchen and not in the large family room, and that the 22 inch TV certainly was not chosen as the primary TV of the household. Perfect for kitchen or bedroom where a sound system will not be used.

Other thoughts: The picture quality is superb, viewing angle is very good, and any adjusments that need to be made are simple and straightforward. Can't comment on the use of the LG remote since we use the Verizon remote on a daily basis. BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommend this product.

Review by Barbara M. Dix : Great TV 5 Star

My 3-year old Samsung 19" LCD quit and could not be repaired, so the search began. I can't live without a bedroom TV, so I turned to Amazon to see what's available. Since I wanted it NOW I went to PC Richards and bought the one they had in stock -- a Toshiba 22" TV. Extremely easy to set up, a very nice, low profile, very appealing. However, the volume was not loud enough for my bad hearing and the sound was really tinny. Uh oh.

I ordered this LG the same day, and am extremely pleased. As always, I chose free shipping, and as always, the package arrived waaay before expected.

Sound is much better -- the speakers put out 5 watts per v. 3 with the Toshiba.

The LG's picture ratio adjustments are unbelievable - you can easily find one that maximizes the program at hand. With my Samsung, if you zoomed a non-HD program, you would lose the bottom banner as on the business channels; with this TV, you can move the image up to see the banner. The color and brightness seem infinitely adjustable, in addition to 5 or 6 preset options. The remote is so well designed - I wish my cable remote were half as appealing. This TV comes on much faster than the 3-yr old Samsung did. And 22" v. 19" makes a noticeable difference.

Love it. Hope it lasts longer than 3 years....

Review by Trio Canine "video junkie" : Growing on me 4 Star

Bought this to replace a 24" Samsung hybrid LCD primarily to see if LED was that much better. I had already returned a Viore and Vizio (see my reviews if interested), and ordered this based on the reviews of others and its small form factor. Set-up was easy although putting the stand together involves jamming two pieces together and making it close to impossible to return using the narrow original box. Loaded all analog and digital channels directly from the wall, something I required even though I am currently using a Time Warner HD Box / HDMI. After spending a week or so tinkering with the settings, the picture is above-average. Sound quality above average for this size TV, but I hooked up a pair of computer speakers via the ear phone jack to make the sound better. I have not used this as a computer monitor, but blu-ray quality via the second HDMI input (another one of my requirements) is excellent. Bottom line: if you want a cool looking small TV for a small space, this would work well; however, you can get about the same performance from a similiarly sized LCD for a lot lower price. I'm going to keep this set because as I indicated above it gets better as I tinker with it.
